OKLAHOMA CITY - Hot summers mean more energy use and higher utility bills. But OG&E's customers can choose from multiple products and services to help them reduce their energy use and save money on their electric bill. There's something for everyone, and collectively, customers are saving millions of dollars taking advantage of the offerings. That's one reason OG&E has consistently high marks in customer satisfaction. Here's a look at programs for residential customers:
Rate plans to save money:
SmartHours - Customers enrolled in the SmartHours program are saving on average $150 each summer. They receive nearly half-price electricity for 19 hours of the day, weekends and holidays, and a variable price for the peak hours of 2 - 7 p.m. weekdays.
SmartHours/Time of Use - Pay one rate (no variable prices) for the on-peak hours of
2 - 7 p.m. weekdays, and one rate for all other 19 hours of the day, plus weekends and holidays, which are off-peak hours.
Billing options:
Average Monthly Billing - A rolling 12-month average that smooths out the peaks and valleys on seasonal billing.
Guaranteed Flat Bill (Oklahoma customers only) - Customers know the exact amount they'll pay each month.
Auto Pay - Year-round, worry-free electric bill payment. Customers on Auto Pay never worry about a due date for their electric bill because it always gets paid on time.

Home Energy Efficiency Plan (HEEP) (Oklahoma customers only) - With HEEP, customers can take advantage of a free online Home Energy Profile that helps analyze their homes' energy efficiency profile. They also can receive a free in-home assessment from an energy expert and up to 10 free LED bulbs, new power strips and a report on the home. HEEP participants can receive a free A/C tune up from a licensed HVAC contractor who will inspect, measure, clean and correct their A/C system. They also receive rebates on upgraded attic insulation and high-efficiency pool pumps.
Weatherization - OG&E offers the weatherization program in Oklahoma free to all residential customers who own or lease a single-family, duplex or mobile home and have an income of less than $50,000 a year. This program can help improve your comfort, reduce energy costs, and safeguard your residence. Some home improvements may include:
Adding attic insulation
Sealing air leakage around windows and doors
Duct sealing
Installing energy-saving light bulbs
In Arkansas, customers can take advantage of weatherization services if their home was built before 2005.
