OKLAHOMA CITY-OG&E announced today that it will reschedule the electric vehicle ride & drive event from this Saturday, April 21, to Saturday, July 21, at the same location - the precision driving training course on the campus of OSU-OKC.

'Given the forecasted significant chance of rain and lightning throughout the day Saturday, in the interest of safety we are rescheduling our plans and will hope to see everyone in July for an equally fun and educational event,' said Kathleen O'Shea, OG&E spokeswoman.

O'Shea said the annual event has steadily increased in size, interest and participation over the last several years. Several local car dealerships will be there with various makes and models of EVs for participants to test drive or ride in as a passenger.

'In the meantime, we encourage people to visit our EV website at www.oge.com/ev for more information about the numerous benefits of driving electric - lower overall cost of ownership, federal and state incentives on purchases, reduced emissions, and the surprising 'get up and go' of the cars,' O'Shea said.
