Oil India Limited (OIL), the second largest Government owned Exploration and Production Company in the country has been named in the 'Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings' for 2014, at a glittering award ceremony held at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore in the evening of 28th October, 2014. Oil India Limited has been conferred a ranking of #208 on overall global performance for distinguishing itself through its remarkable performance over the past year.
The current rankings will give a huge boost to Oil India Limited, in its pursuit of hydrocarbon exploration in India and abroad. Oil India Limited is a fully integrated National petroleum E&P company in the upstream sector in India.The authorized share capital of the Company is Rs.2,000crore and the paid up capital is Rs.601.14 crore. Presently, Government of India holds 67.64% of the paid up Equity Capital of the Company. The Profit after Tax of the Company for FY2013-14 was Rs. 2981.30 crore.
