This is demonstrated by our ability to source sustainably, coupled with our expertise in taking products from processing to packaged products, benefitting customers across our entire ingredients portfolio. Whether it's the traceability of our cocoa products, sustainably sourcing hazelnuts or creating exciting spiced flavours to stay ahead of the curve, our aim at FiE is to show how Olam's commitment to growing responsibly can positively impact our customers' brands and bottom line.'

A consolidated cocoa offering

Following the acquisition of ADM's cocoa business and the recent establishment of a worldwide cocoa processing footprint, including five factories in Europe, Olam's Cocoa business is now one of the top three integrated suppliers of cocoa beans and cocoa products globally. Olam is proud to see the talent of the deZaan® team under Olam's enlarged Cocoa business recognised with new TRUEDARK™ cocoa powder shortlisted for the 2015 Food Ingredients Innovation Awards to be announced at the show.

FiE will give customers the opportunity to experience the superior qualities of the deZaan® and Macao® cocoa powders. Olam Cocoa will also be showcasing West African brand, UNICAO®'s new, whole bean roasted BM cocoa mass, a product that provides unique, West African flavour characteristics and which is packaged and shipped in a pioneering new ingot format.

Part of Olam Cocoa's new product offering, deZaan®'s TRUEDARK™ cocoa powder has been shortlisted in the category of Best Natural Innovation at the 2015 Food Ingredients Innovation Awards. Using unique, proprietary technology, the Cocoa Innovation Centre team developed the first non-alkalised cocoa powder, which is set to have a revolutionary impact on the cocoa ingredient market by meeting increasing demand for clean label ingredients.

Rinus Heemskerk, Global Head of Product Development & Innovation for Olam Cocoa commented: 'Customers expect deZaan® to lead the innovation in cocoa products. Responding to the drive for more natural foods, we have been able to come up with a cocoa powder that provides the sensory experiences of an alkalised cocoa powder. deZaan®'s TRUEDARK™ is the logical next step in a range of product developments where we offer enhanced flavour performance for specific product applications.'
