TULSA, Okla., April 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of the general partner of ONEOK Partners, L.P. (NYSE: OKS) today increased the partnership's quarterly cash distribution by 1.5 cents to 74.5 cents per unit from 73 cents per unit, effective for the first quarter 2014, resulting in an annualized cash distribution of $2.98 per unit. The distribution is payable May 15, 2014, to unitholders of record as of April 30, 2014.

"Completed projects from our previously announced $6.0 billion to $6.4 billion capital-growth program continue to generate higher earnings and enable us to once again increase distribution payments to our unitholders," said Terry K. Spencer, president and chief executive officer of ONEOK Partners.

In February 2014, ONEOK Partners affirmed that it expects to increase its distribution by 1.5 cents per unit per quarter in 2014, while maintaining an annual coverage ratio target of 1.05 to 1.15 times distributable cash flow, subject to approval by the board of directors of the general partner.

ONEOK Partners has increased its distribution by 86 percent since April 2006, when a wholly owned subsidiary of ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE: OKE) became the sole general partner.
