OpenText Web Experience Management Delivers Vital Flexibility and Scalability for ESC's Online Platform

WATERLOO, Ontario, Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- OpenText(TM) (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTEX), the global leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), today announced that the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), which unites national cardiac societies around the globe to improve cardiac care through the sharing and dissemination of content and professional resources, has selected OpenText. Using OpenText Web Experience Management and OpenText Semantic Navigation, the ESC is building a rich web platform to make care related resources easily accessible to its global audience.

The ESC makes more than 120,000 cardiac-care-related documents available online through Escardio.org, and each year hosts a 30,000-attendee congress in Europe, generating more than 6,000 new presentations which are then made available to the community. With resource and content availability at the center of its mission, the ESC websites are vital to meeting the organization's goals.

"OpenText Web Experience Management gives us the tools we need to manage our complex and ever-growing content," said David Sebastiao, IT project manager at the European Society of Cardiology. "OpenText's intuitive solutions have made it faster to make new content available and reduced the amount of time it takes users to find what they're looking for. Our content is now very organized, which means we can make changes quickly and easily throughout the entire content lifecycle, from creation to destruction."

While the main part of Escardio.org is publically available, the ESC has recently started offering members-only content, such as recorded webinars, clinical cases, and the ESC member directory. OpenText Web Experience Management integrates with the ESC's customer relationship management environment to serve gated content to authorized users only.

"We knew that we wanted a solution that would meet our needs today, but that also had a visionary roadmap that would allow us to move with users' needs too," said Sebastiao. "OpenText Web Experience Management is focused on providing a solution that meets our information and experience requirements, and has a clear roadmap that matches our vision of providing personalized, targeted content delivery."

The ESC is now looking at ways to further develop its websites to provide even better service, information dissemination, and personalization through targeted content.

"We are working to further deepen the integration between OpenText and our other systems, including Salesforce, as we've built up greater knowledge on the capabilities of the OpenText platform," says Sebastiao. "OpenText is now a key component of our service delivery and we will continue to explore ways to further leverage the platform."

OpenText Web Experience Management helps organizations create and deliver dynamic, targeted interactions across multiple touch points, built for high-performance, enterprise-scalable, and transaction-oriented web applications.
