News Summary

In Building business-critical applications exhibiting high levels of availability, reliability and security requires a solid, high-performance database. Since 2009, digital direct marketing provider ContactLab has relied on MySQL Enterprise Edition to strengthen the data management of email and SMS campaigns. To help ensure the company continues to benefit from the high performance, secure and reliable database infrastructure it needs for on-going innovation, ContactLab has standardized on MySQL Enterprise Edition.

News Facts

ContactLab, the Italian leader in the field of digital direct marketing, today announced it has entered into a five year agreement with Oracle to continue using MySQL Enterprise Edition to strengthen its outbound messaging platform.

With more than 130 professionals and over 1,000 customers, ContactLab has used MySQL Enterprise Edition since 2009. Leveraging the scalability, security and availability of MySQL Enterprise Edition, the company evolved its platform to manage a significant increase in the volume of data, expand its enterprise offering, and branch out into foreign markets.

Under the 5 year agreement, ContactLab will use MySQL Enterprise Edition to manage message distribution, collection of observational data, and the flow of loading and updating databases of customers in an operational environment demanding very low latency.

MySQL Enterprise Edition will also power the data warehousing tools for campaign planning, aggregation and reporting.

ContactLab currently manages more than 6 terabytes of data accessible from their web applications, sending, tracking and analyzing an average of 60 million emails a day. Each message generates an average of 1.4 records in different tables (shipping, opening, clicks, bounces, other events), with over 80 million new records created each day.

Additionally, ContactLab will continue to integrate its monitoring and profiling tools with 24/7 Oracle Premier Support, to help ensure rapid response times and to assist in the development, use and management of MySQL applications.
