Today Oracle announced, focused exclusively on tri-sport products and services UK-head-quartered specialty ecommerce retailer Wiggle (www.wiggle.com) is using Oracle solutions to sustain record sales and enable expansion into new markets.

The leading global online tri-sports retailer, founded just nine years ago and which last year completed its acquisition of Chain Reaction Cycles (CRC), went live on 31 October 2016 with its new retail platform comprising Oracle Retail Merchandising System (ORMS) and Oracle Merchandise Financial Planning (OMFP). The new platform performed admirably throughout the peak trading period of both Black Friday and Christmas.

Wiggle, already using Oracle Cloud Services including Oracle Fusion Financials & Procurement and Oracle Business Intelligence, completed its implementation of Oracle Retail Merchandising and Planning in less than ten months following data cleansing and detailed design.

'To grow from $200 million to $400 million in revenue, we have changed the way that we invest in and use IT,' said Wiggle CIO Jeff Wollen. 'The Oracle platform scales optimally to support our near and long-term growth objectives, while changing the way that we work and how we drive performance across categories and market segments.'

With the Oracle Retail solutions in place, Wiggle has grown its sales during the peak 2016 holiday shopping period, using promotions to drive traffic, aligning merchandise with demand and fulfilling customer transactions. The company is using Oracle tools to better understand and drive performance across operations to align orders, cost, price and suppliers to further improve both customer experience and margins.

The impact on Wiggle business operations is widespread and changes the productivity paradigm by empowering merchants to gain inventory efficiencies by reconciling plans and forecasts across functions; and identifying opportunities to increase the success for both supplier and retailer. Wiggle partnered with Hitachi Consulting and OLR Group to implement the Oracle Retail solutions in a very rapid timeline.
