This first international meeting devoted to innovation and the growth of start-ups will bring together all of the world's players in the digital transformation, including thousands of start-ups and dozens of international groups.

As the world engages in a profound, digital transformation, Orange believes that it has an important role to play to encourage the development of new technologies and stimulate the emergence of an ecosystem conducive to the development of new uses. Within this framework, Orange identifies, supports and promotes start-ups that will fundamentally change the way we live in the future and will transform the things that are essential in our lives. The Group is embarking on initiatives in fields that will completely change how we work, how we communicate, what we do for entertainment and even how we manage our money.

Meeting Orange executives and innovators

Among the 200 speeches to be given during Viva Technology, Orange will take the floor on a number of subjects:

  • Stéphane Richard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Orange, will give a keynote address on Thursday, 30 June from 10:00 to 10:30am on 'The Human Benefits of Innovation'.
  • Mari-Noëlle Jégo-Laveissière, Senior Executive Vice-President of Innovation, Marketing and Technologies, will participate in the session 'Internet of Things:boon to the telecom industry?' together with Thierry Lestable of the LoRa Alliance and Philippe Bailly of NP Conseil, from 2:40 to 3:10pm.
  • Pierre Louette, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, will participate in the session 'Start-up & corporate relationships:financing and open innovation strategies', from 3:10 to 3:30pm, with Joao Barros, CEO of Veniam.

In addition, on Friday 1 Julyfrom 10:15 to 10:35am, Bénédicte David, Director of Strategy and the Customer Experience for Africa and the Middle East, will participate in the session 'Can innovations in Africa be applied to farming worldwide?' with Abdou Maman Kané, Director of Tech-Innov and inventor of the 'Tele-Irrigation' system.

Orange Lab

The Orange stand will open on Demo Day at 9:00am. Orange Fab, Orange's international network of start-up accelerators, is holding its 3 International Demo Day with the participation of 50 start-ups from all over the world accelerated by our 12 Orange Fabs and by our partners DT, Singtel, Telefonica and Korea Telecom.

On Friday 1 July, ODV (Orange Digital Ventures) and Orange's financing operations will be presented throughout the day.

The members of the international alliance GO IGNITE (Orange - Orange Fab Deutsche Telekom - Hub:raum, Singtel - Innov8n Telefónica - Open Future) will announce and present the five winning start-ups of their first call for projects during a ceremony in which the start-ups will be able to make their pitch before an audience of more than a hundred guests.

The awards ceremony for the 'Digital serving autonomy: disability, home support, old age' Hackathon will take place the same day at 5:00pm. The winning teams will receive prizes offered by Orange, BNP Paribas Cardif, DomusVi, ATOS, CA Technologies, IBM, EDF and Responsage, with 17 other partners of the Hackathon, an Orange initiative, attending: Adetem, Afnor, Claria, the French Red Cross, the Ministerial Delegation on Accessibility, Healthcare and Connections, e-Seniors, FabLab Côte d'Opale, FacLab, the University Foundation of Cergy-Pontoise, Figures de France, SOS Seniors group, HandiCaPZero, Notre Temps, Quai du Numérique, Virtual University of Free Time and Vivre FM.

For the day open to the general public, Saturday 2 July, Orange invites children aged 9 to 13 to participate for free in recreational workshops initiating them into the world of computer programming: game design, animations, robot programming… The objective of the #SuperCoders workshops is to introduce girls and boys to digital culture by teaching them about computer programming in a fun and easy way. Led by volunteer coaches from Orange, the collective workshops last two hours.

Orange will also present the award for the General Public start-up at 4:00pm.
