Looking for the right graduate program can be daunting. You've worked hard at University, made the most of your time. Now you're ready to take a leap into the workforce, earn a living and build a career. But with who and doing what?

We recognise that not every program or prospective employer is the right fit. To help you consider Orica's Graduate Program, we've listed key experiences you'll gain, how we'll support you to discover a career path, and who's right for our program.

Our Rotations

Over 2 years you'll have 3 rotations aligned to a career in our 3 business streams:

  • Regional Business (Within our Drill & Blast / Mining Services Operations)
  • Manufacturing (Within our network of manufacturing assets)
  • Technology (Within our technology & Research & Development areas)

Your first two core rotations will deliver experience on-site and in commercial areas to build a solid foundation and understanding of our business. The final rotation is more specifically aligned to a program stream to shape a clear career path for you at Orica.

Example rotations may include Graduate placements in Mining Drill & Blast Engineering, Operations, Plant Engineering, Commercial /Business Analyst, Supply Chain or Procurement Analyst, R&D/Technology.

As well as the technical skills you develop on rotation, you will participate in a structured development program, focused on building your professional and leadership capability. Your journey will be guided by a personalised learning plan to accelerate your career and optimise your experience.

Program Eligibility

  • Be in your final year of your Engineering university degree or have completed your degree (within the past 2 years) in the following Engineer Disciplines:
    • Mining Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
  • Be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or have Australian Permanent Residency (confirmed status or pending approval);

  • Be willing to relocate as required for rotation, sometimes to remote locations across Australia;

  • Have a minimum average GPA of 65;

  • Be living in Australia and be able to attend selection stages in person if required

Ready to apply? We have a streamlined application process (15 minutes or less). We won't ask you to provide anything we don't need to confirm your eligibility and alignment to Orica's Graduate Program.

Have the following ready to upload 1) proof of residency 2) university transcripts 3) your resume.

Once we have this, we will then begin assessing your application against your peers. We do use online testing and video interviews (week of 11 September). Finally we'll be inviting people to attend our assessment centres, in early October in Perth, Melbourne, Newcastle & Brisbane.
