OriginOil Inc. (OTCBB: OOIL), developer of Electro Water Separation TM (EWS), the high-speed, chemical-free process to clean up large quantities of water, announced today that it will collaborate with Israel's AquaGreen Fish Farms, Ltd to further streamline zero-discharge aquaculture systems for the production of chemical free seafood. The agreement followed a high-profile launch of OriginOil's Permanent Showcase in December (video at www.vimeo.com/85059925).

"We are proud to be the first industry player to integrate OriginOil's water treatment breakthrough," said Michael Rachin, AquaGreen's CTO. "We have been watching its development with great interest and were only waiting for a field demonstration.

"After the launch at Aqua Farming Tech in Southern California, we decided to begin integration of OriginOil's water treatment system into our zero-discharge intensive fish farming operations to remove fish waste, such as ammonia, and control fish disease," Rachin continued.

"We are extremely happy that one of the industry's true visionaries has decided to integrate our technology," said Jean-Louis Kindler, OriginOil's Chief Commercial Officer. "It's a sign that our process can really make a difference in the water-hungry land-based fish farming business."

As fish farm production grows rapidly worldwide, the challenge has been water conservation and limiting harmful discharge into land and surface waters near fish farms. The collaboration between OriginOil and AquaGreen Fish Farms makes fish farming 100% environmentally friendly and sustainable.

An innovator and world leader in creating land based, Zero Discharge Intensive Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), Rachin was first to successfully scale a zero-discharge marine recirculating system to 500 tons of annual fish production. Zero-Discharge Intensive RAS systems recirculate 100% of the water and are able to raise fish at high density in any climate or location.

The water savings are massive: A 500 ton annual production scale can require as much as 2.5 billion gallons of fresh water per year; but with zero-discharge systems, this figure drops to about half a million gallons of replacement water, a 5000x reduction in water usage and zero discharge pollution.

"AquaGreen Fish Farms shares our dedication and vision for sustainable fish production with no environmental impact anywhere in the world," stated Marlene Stewart, Global Sales Manager for OriginOil. "We are on a high speed track to enable increased food production and commerce."
