Close co-operation between Oriola and Orion continues

Oriola and Orion work in close co-operation for the health and wellbeing of Finns. The Orion products that were elsewhere in distribution in the fall will mainly return to Oriola's distribution in early 2018. At the same time, Orion transfers pharmaceuticals for cardiovascular diseases into multichannel distribution, and continues the multichannel distribution of selected non-pharmaceutical products. Pharmacies and other customers can order these products from Oriola or alternatively from another operator in 2018. The annual sales of the Orion products transferring to multichannel distribution in Finland are up to approximately 90 million euros.

'We are very pleased with our close, long-term cooperation with Orion. This agreed arrangement aims to ensure the availability of pharmaceuticals for cardiovascular diseases in all circumstances,' says Oriola's interim CEO, Executive Vice President, Services Business, Kimmo Virtanen.

'Orion wants to ensure the availability of its products under all circumstances, which is why we have decided to continue the multichannel distribution of certain pharmaceuticals for cardiovascular diseases and a limited range of non-pharmaceutical products. All of our products will be available also in Oriola's distribution, as before, along with the other channels. We will inform pharmacies about the products in multichannel distribution and the timing in the near future' says Janne Maksimainen, Head of Orion's Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing in Finland.
