On 6 March 2017, President and CEO Peter A. Ruzicka marked an important milestone in the history of Orkla when he and Oslo city councillor Geir Lippestad laid the cornerstone of the Group's new headquarters.

A copper box bearing the Orkla logo and filled with branded consumer goods and other items was laid as a cornerstone on the building site to mark the historic event.

'The building site that you see here will be the base of the largest branded consumer goods company in the Nordic region. This is one of the biggest single investments that we have made in a long time, other than companies that we have acquired,' Peter said in his speech, referring to the fact that Orkla is investing NOK 1 billion in its new headquarters at Skøyen in Oslo.

He emphasised that Orkla is establishing itself for the future, and pointed out that the new building will meet environmental standards that go far beyond official requirements.
