Owens Corning (NYSE: OC), a leading global producer of glass fiber reinforcements and engineered materials for composite systems, today launched its new OC Paneluxe™ multi-end roving for continuous lamination of translucent and general purpose applications. This versatile and multi-functional product allows for design and process flexibility, as well as mechanical and transparency performance.

Like all Owens Corning innovations, OC Paneluxe™ roving is designed with the objective of helping to boost the profits of customers through enhanced performance and productivity benefits.

Formulated for use with polyester and vinyl-ester resins in a wide range of applications, the OC Paneluxe™ product allows for more homogeneous glass fiber mats and better fiber repartition. This multi-functional product reduces the number of glass changeovers.

The new OC Paneluxe™ product provides great translucency and clarity with greater than 80 percent light transmittance1 and up to 25 percent increased clarity2 versus typical competitive products.

The OC Paneluxe™ product also demonstrates fast wet-out and impregnation, and generates low fuzz and low static. These features, combined with consistent, reliable choppability, contribute to productivity enhancements.

OC Paneluxe™ multi-end roving incorporates Advantex® corrosion resistant glass fibers, which combine the electrical and mechanical properties of traditional E-glass with the corrosion resistance of E-CR glass.

A Wide Range of Applications

OC Paneluxe™ roving can be used in a variety of applications requiring flat and corrugated translucent and opaque panels such as roofing and skylights for industrial and commercial buildings, greenhouses, cold storage warehouses, and wall panels in commercial kitchens and hospitals.

The product can also be used for panel components in building (garage doors, awnings, patio covers, fences, and windbreaks) and in transportation (trucks/trailers, railcars and recreational vehicles).

The product launch is taking place at JEC Europe 2015 composites show and conferences, taking place from March 10 to 12 at Porte de Versailles in Paris. Owens Corning is exhibiting in Hall 7-2, Booth F22.
