The PALFINGER Group will open its new site at the weXelerate startup hub in Vienna at the end of September. weXelerate, Central and Eastern Europe's largest business incubator, is currently being established at the Vienna Design Tower. PALFINGER will be one of the partner companies at the startup hub, and offers ambitious technophiles interested in working on advancements in the field of IoT (Internet of Things) excellent opportunities at this new site.

'Staff members working at this site will be given the unique opportunity to be part of these exciting developments right from the outset, helping to build the team and creating new solutions from the very start. At one of Vienna's top locations, they will cooperate closely with the startups, developing new solutions in the field of IoT. This opens up completely new business models for PALFINGER,' says Herbert Ortner, CEO of PALFINGER AG.

A PALFINGER IoT platform forms the technical basis for interconnected products. This is where data on the PALFINGER products are collected, analysed and visualized, making it possible to depict the current state of each product. As a consequence, PALFINGER is able to offer its customers new services such as pro-active and predictive maintenance of lifting solutions.

Development team and jobs
Specifically, PALFINGER is still looking for developers for its site at the weXelerate hub. Successful applicants will form the team that creates IoT solutions of relevance for the PALFINGER Group and develops them until they are ready to be marketed.

Under the motto 'Welcome to the Future!', this development team, together with selected startup companies, will work on the latest IoT trends for the construction industry, agriculture, forestry, as well as the transport and logistics industries. PALFINGER will thereby continue to play a substantial role in shaping the future of lifting solutions.

Site at the weXelerate startup hub
The weXelerate startup hub at the Vienna Design Tower near the Danube Canal (Donaukanal) will open at the end of September. So far, 52 startups from 14 different countries have been selected to form the innovation centre's first batch of companies. Most of the startups chosen for the programme are involved in the fields of blockchain/IoT/big data, mobility/AR/VR, cyber security and AI & bot.
