Parker's SensoNODE™ Sensors and SCOUT™ Software Earn Accolades at 2016 Sensors Expo

June 27, 2016 - San Jose, Calif. - Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, was honored at this year's Sensors Expo for its innovative SensoNODE™ sensor and SCOUT™ Software technology.

SensoNODE sensors and SCOUT software earned silver in the Application Award category. The Application Award recognizes sensor applications, whether commercial or experimental, and their use in the wider world. Nominated sensor applications must be distinctive, have the potential to change the way people work and must serve a real need.

Parker's Quick Coupling Division (QCD) debuted the next generation of connected products with its new SensoNODE Gold sensors and SCOUT Cloud software at the expo. This latest Internet of Things (IoT) solution from Parker allows its customers to improve productivity and uptime by monitoring and reporting the condition of assets anywhere, anytime.

Parker QCD also released an expanded range of its popular SensoNODE Blue sensors and SCOUT Mobile platform. Leveraging Bluetooth™ Low Energy technology, this platform of plug-and-play sensors and intuitive mobile application enables users to wirelessly monitor their assets and perform diagnostics in less time and with less chance of error than with traditional monitoring gauges.

'The team has been working hard on developing these innovative solutions for our target markets,' says Mario Calvo, business unit manager at Parker. 'This award is a great honor and serves as an incentive for us to keep pushing the limits on condition monitoring for predictive maintenance.'

Also on display, Parker's new SensoNODE High-Strain Sensor, featuring electroactive polymer technology (EAP). Soft, thin, conformable and unobtrusive, SensoNODE High-Strain is made with a stretchable polymer that can take accurate measurements and readings while being strained over 100% for millions of cycles. This technology is creating new innovative possibilities for industrial, medical and wearable applications.

The prestigious Application and Innovation awards were announced at Sensors Expo by Mat Dirjish, executive editor of Sensors Magazine.

'It is an exciting time to be involved in the sensor industry as innovations and applications abound. The winners of our annual Best of Sensors Awards not only showcase the potential of the market, but highlight the real-world impact these sensor-based solutions can deliver,' Dirjish says. 'We extend our congratulations to all the winners and look forward to their future innovations.'
