In 2009, our global risk management organization embarked on a journey to build an Enterprise Fraud Management System in-house from scratch. Now complete, this EFM system allows us to work with vast amounts of rich data to help keep fraud at a low level and our customers' transactions secure.

We're honored that Computerworld today recognized our innovative use of industry-leading data analytics in risk management and fraud prevention by awarding PayPal's Risk organization with a 2015 Computerworld Data+ Editors' Choice Award.
The Data+Editors' Choice Awards are given by the Computerworld editorial team to recognize industry-leading organizations for their ability to achieve business benefits through big data, and demonstrate real-world results and best practices. Here are a few words from Computerworld's Editor in Chief Scott Finnie:

"This year's honorees have used analytics to solve vexing business and humanitarian problems. They are taking data analytics to the next level - mining data to make fast business decisions, measure risk, create efficiencies and much more."

That definitely describes our Risk team, as they play a critical role across PayPal. So join us in congratulating our amazing team of incredibility talented technologists and fraud management experts, across the globe, who are helping to protect our customers every day.

Congrats to Tomer Barel, Hui Wang and the entire PayPal Global Risk Sciences team!
