We caught up with Kayley, one of our Senior Sales Executives, to learn more about her role and how far she's come so far with Pendragon.

Join us as a Sales Executive

How has your career progressed whilst at Pendragon, and how long have you worked for us?

Having never worked in the motor industry it was a scary thought selling cars, meeting new people every day and the challenge of making sure every individual you meet is catered for. I started at Evans Halshaw Peugeot Mansfield as a Sales Executive in September 2016, and within six month I had achieved the High Performers Financial Programme on 150 in six months of selling.

Having great support around me from my colleges and management I was placed on the Business Managers programme at the Pendragon Training Academy just nine months after joining the motor trade. This week, after a lot of hard work and forgetting what my home looks like (!) I was promoted by my National Franchise Director. I started my roots at Peugeot Mansfield and I'm still here today, keeping up the growth of women in the motor industry.

What does your role involve?

My roles as a Sales Executive is of course to maximize profit and create an outstanding customer experience, but that's just the forefront; behind the scenes right now I'm supporting new staff finding their feet within the dealership and helping with our newly introduced Handover Specialist. I also providing support for management when required and keep my eyes and ears open to digest as much knowledge as I can from my peers to help me progress.I treat customers as my friends - trust is key and the rest will come. I come to work every day excited to see who I'm going to meet.

What is your top customer service experience you have delivered to date?

I guess I'd like to think every customer receives a top customer service experience, but I did have a lady from Sheffield who became a part of my journey. Nerves can really get to a customer when changing their car, and this customer was so worried about changing into an automatic vehicle. We sat over a few coffees, talking over the pros and cons of the car and after a nervous test drive she brought the car.

I then received a card through the post from this lovely customer, which read, 'Buying this car is by far the best thing I ever did', wishing me the best in my career progression. It's little things like that which make you realise just why this job can be so rewarding.

How would you rate the progression and training opportunities at Pendragon?

Second to none. I speak with some amazing people over at the Pendragon Training Academy who are quick to help, and I'm progressing faster than I ever thought I would. Working for Pendragon has made me hungry and ready for each progression step, I want to show off my skill set and hopefully still be a part of the Pendragon journey in years to come. I'm heading for Dealer Principle - watch out!

What is your dream car?

I'm a two wheel fan but if I could choose I guess it would have to be a the Jaguar F Type in black; not sure the wife would agree but she would have to catch me first 0-60 in 3.5 seconds!

What makes you proud to be Pendragon?

The people around me make me proud to be Pendragon. You create a little family within the work place and you go through ups and down but we pull through to produce results; whether that be Sales, Service, Administration or the Parts department, we're all in it together. Pendragon has changed me as a person for the better and I can't wait to see my future growth as I take on the motor industry. Thank you to everyone who is helping me on my journey.
