Pennon, one of the UK's largest environmental infrastructure groups, has today (Monday 23 January 2017) backed the Government's Industrial Strategy, praising it as 'a pathway for sustainable economic growth.'

Group Chief Executive Officer, Chris Loughlin, said:

'Pennon warmly welcomes the Government's consultation to identify the priorities for a long-term industrial strategy for the UK. The strategy is timely, bold and a pathway for sustainable economic growth.

'Not only does it rightly look to investment in next generation infrastructure, it prioritises water, energy and the low-carbon economy. But more than that, today's announcement recognises the need to invest in people, STEM and skills.

'As one of the UK's leading environmental infrastructure groups, employing over 4,800 people, investing over £1.8bn over the last five years and with over £1.5bn investment planned for the next five years, we look forward to working with government over the time ahead.'
