WASHINGTON, Feb. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Penske Automotive Group and their customers raised over $1 million for Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans) through its 2017 "Service Matters" campaign. Since the inception of the campaign in 2015, Penske Automotive Group's "Service Matters" campaign has raised more than $3 million for Paralyzed Veterans.

Throughout 2017, Penske Automotive Group dealerships invited customers to donate toward its "Service Matters" campaign. To multiply the impact of customers' contributions, Penske Automotive Group then matched each donation—up to a total contribution of $500,000. All funds go toward supporting Paralyzed Veterans' programs and services, such as benefits assistance, employment counseling, investing in research & education and adaptive sports programs—all of which are provided free of charge to veterans and their families.

"We are beyond grateful for this partnership with Penske Automotive Group. Their long-term commitment to veterans with disabilities has allowed us to continue to serve our nation's veterans, and to ensure those veterans have access to programs and services to help them recover and rebuild their lives after serious injuries," said David Zurfluh, National President of Paralyzed Veterans. "Thank you to Penske Automotive Group, their employees and customers for their hard work and efforts to continuing to help severely injured veterans receive what they've earned and deserve: Care, Jobs and Benefits."

With the great success of the 2017 "Service Matters" campaign, Penske Automotive Group has extended its partnership with the Paralyzed Veterans of America for a fourth year.

"It was an honor for Penske Automotive Group to be part of this fundraising effort in 2017 and we are thrilled to extend our partnership with the Paralyzed Veterans through 2018," said Robert H. Kurnick Jr., Penske Automotive Group President. "We thank our associates and our customers for their continued support of our mission to serve those who have served and for embracing the important work performed by the Paralyzed Veterans of America. We are committed to continuing to change the lives of our veterans and ensuring they receive the opportunity, care and support they earned by serving our country."
