Pepco Holdings, Inc. is pleased to announce today that Chairman of the
Board, President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph M. Rigby will be
presented with the 2012 Corporate Leadership Award by Boys & Girls Clubs
of Greater Washington (BGCGW) at the 27th Annual Tim Russert
Congressional Dinner. The award recognizes PHI's commitment to corporate
responsibility and community service.
Luke Russert, Correspondent for NBC News and son of the late Tim
Russert, will emcee the award ceremony May 3 at the JW Marriott Hotel in
Washington, D.C.
"Boys & Girls Clubs Corporate Leadership award is a wonderful
recognition of the efforts of Pepco Holdings and its employees to
improve the quality of life for youth in the metropolitan Washington
area," Rigby said. "PHI is committed to enhancing the reliability of
electric service to the communities we serve, but we also are committed
to making a difference on a personal level as well."
PHI, through Pepco's established Washington, D.C., roots, has been a
proud supporter of the BGCGW for the past 18 years.
"PHI has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the Washington
area, and we will continue to encourage and support our employees who
give their time and energy to creating a brighter future for those in
need," Rigby said.
The first Congressional Dinner was held in 1986 to commemorate BGCGW's
100 years of continuous service to youth. The Dinner serves as an
opportunity to pay tribute to local and national leaders who have
demonstrated a strong commitment and investment in our future by making
significant contributions to the youth served by BGCGW.
Past Congressional Dinner honorees have included Secretary of State
Colin Powell; Vice President Al Gore; Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Sen.
