Purchase, N.Y., May 9, 2017 - Actress Darby Stanchfield has partnered with Pure Leaf tea to star in a short documentary highlighting the brand's simple and authentic process behind its line of ready-to-drink and home-brewed teas. The documentary launches today and can be viewed on PureLeaf.com.

Unlike many other tea brands, Pure Leaf is made using real tea leaves, not powders or concentrates. In this documentary, Stanchfield and Pure Leaf Tea Master Alex White journey to the Indonesian tea estate Dewata, where they experience firsthand the passion and level of expertise behind every Pure Leaf product.

Stanchfield is excited to invite her fans along on her journey as she immerses herself in the Pure Leaf process by working in the field to learn how to freshly pick tea leaves. Her 'Journey with a Tea Master' continues as White demonstrates how those very same leaves are rolled, dried and blended. Stanchfield was amazed by the expertise and passion White lends to the process to ensure no corners are cut to deliver a unique, real-brewed taste.

'As someone who grows my own ingredients in my home garden, I appreciate the hard work and care that goes into the process of making something you love,' said Stanchfield. 'It was fascinating to see the level of detail and care that goes into crafting Pure Leaf teas. This documentary gives viewers a unique opportunity to learn the art of making tea and why Pure Leaf chooses to source its leaves from estates like Dewata. I hope viewers enjoy this experience just as much as I did.'

Pure Leaf uses quality tea leaves that have been sourced from various tea estates around the world, including the Dewata Tea Estate. The Dewata Tea Estate is a self-sustained village that is home to over 2,400 people and is located in the breathtaking, remote hills of West Java, Indonesia. It was one of the first tea estates to have been awarded a certificate from the Rainforest Alliance, which shows its continued commitment to sustainable efforts that benefit farm communities, wildlife and the environment. All Pure Leaf products use tea leaves from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ tea estates.

'From sourcing our leaves from some of the best tea estates around the world to having a Tea Master like Alex White on the team, Pure Leaf is truly dedicated to bringing out the real essence of tea without overcomplicating the process,' said Jayanthi Raja-Segaran, Director of Marketing for Pure Leaf at PepsiCo. 'There is no better way to highlight Pure Leaf's tea-harvesting process than by going straight to the source. Aside from bringing viewers to this lush rolling tea estate, it was important for us to bring to life how the Dewata Tea Estate has maintained the simplicity in harvesting tea throughout generations.'

Pure Leaf offers a variety of teas including real-leaf-brewed bottled iced teas, the premium organic Pure Leaf Tea House Collection, and its recently expanded line of bagged and loose teas.
