Bauer Hockey Expands Impressive Roster of Elite Level Goaltenders

Top Netminders Continue to Choose World's Top Hockey Brand as Equipment Provider

EXETER, N.H. - January 25, 2016 - Bauer Hockey, the world's leading manufacturer of hockey equipment, today announced that several National Hockey League goaltenders have joined BAUER's roster of elite athletes and three additional NHL goalies have officially extended their multi-year partnerships with the company.

Officially joining the BAUER team are Tampa Bay Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy, Carolina Hurricanes' Cam Ward, Boston Bruins' Zane McIntyre and Colorado Avalanche's Spencer Martin. In addition, Toronto Maple Leaf's Fredrik Andersen, Vancouver Canuck's Jacob Markstrom and Florida Panthers' James Reimer have all extended their multi-year partnerships with Bauer Hockey.

"We continue to add some of the best goaltenders in the world to our roster of athletes and that is a testament to our continued commitment to product innovation in the goal category," said Henry Breslin, Elite Athlete Services Manager, Bauer Hockey. "Goaltenders are constantly looking for better performing gear and our latest products have created momentum by delivering improved speed, agility and control."

The BAUER SUPREME and BAUER VAPOR lines of goal pads are the most significant advancement in goalie equipment technology in the past decade. Both lines utilize revolutionary performance technology created for Henrik Lundqvist to wear during the 2014 Sochi Olympics as part of Bauer Hockey's innovative OD1N Project. The BAUER OD1N goal pad was the first goal pad to utilize a molded outer foam layer, creating the lightest elite-level pad ever made. In addition to its lightweight properties, the pad also allows for faster sliding from side-to-side and bigger rebounds to better clear pucks. These revolutionary technologies not only helped Lundqvist guide Team Sweden to a silver medal, but are also now available to goaltenders throughout the world in BAUER's latest product lines.

"For years, BAUER has partnered with the very best hockey players from around the world and with our recent advancements and innovation in the goal category, we are seeing more and more goalies join our roster of top athletes and choose BAUER for their equipment needs," said Mary-Kay Messier, Vice President of Marketing, Bauer Hockey. "The feedback from elite goalies on both the SUPREME and VAPOR pads has been incredible and we are excited for the future of BAUER Goal."

In addition to those goalies just now joining the BAUER roster and those who have extended their partnerships, other top BAUER netminders include New York Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist, Los Angeles Kings' Peter Budaj and Minnesota Wild's Devan Dubnyk. Dubnyk is currently leading the league in both goals against average and save percentage and was recently named to the 2017 NHL All-Star Game.
