In April, our total oil and natural gas output was 2.72 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), of which 2.60 million boed produced in Brazil and 130,000 boed abroad.

The average oil output in the country was 2.10 million barrels per day (bpd), 1 percent less than in March. This result is mainly due to the continuity of the scheduled shutdown at the P-37 platform, in the Marlim field, and the scheduled shutdown of the P-43, in the Barracuda and Caratinga fields, both in the Campos Basin.

In April, natural gas production in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, was 78.5 million cubic meters per day, 1 percent more than in the previous month. This increase is mainly due to the return to operation of FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis, installed in the Santos Basin, after a maintenance shutdown.

Production in the pre-salt

In April, the oil and natural gas output we operate (own and partner portions) in the pre-salt layer was 1.50 million boed, stable compared to the previous month's.

Compared with April 2016, when we reached the mark of 1 billion barrels produced in ultra-deep waters, there was a 50 percent increase in production due mainly to the start of production at FPSO Cidade de Saquarema and at FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba, in addition to the increase in production at FPSOs Cidade de Maricá, Cidade de Paraty, and Itaguaí City during this period.

Production abroad

In April, oil output at overseas fields was 64,000 bpd, down 3 percent compared to the previous month's mark. Natural gas production was 9.6 million cubic meters per day, 12 percent less than the March 2017 output. The reduction was mainly due to tests carried out in the Lucius and Hadrian South wells, in the USA, and to the decrease in our own production in Bolivia.
