Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced that it has promoted Jamie L. Martin to vice president, Business Finance, and Melvin J. Christopher to vice president, Gas Transmission and Distribution Operations, effective May 1, 2017.

In her new role, Martin will have responsibility for overseeing the company’s integrated planning, financial planning and budgeting processes. She will report to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jason Wells. Christopher will oversee all operations and maintenance on the company’s natural gas transmission and distribution network, and will report to Senior Vice President, Gas Operations, Jesus Soto.

Jamie and Mel each bring to their new roles proven track records of customer focus, leadership and delivering results at PG&E,” said PG&E Corporation CEO and President Geisha Williams.

Martin, who is currently senior director, Business Finance, joined PG&E in 2007. Since then, she has held various roles in Financial Analysis and Reporting, Investor Relations, Business Finance, and Project Finance. Prior to PG&E, Martin worked at the accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of San Francisco and serves on their Alumni Board of Directors.

Christopher, who is currently senior director, Gas Transmission and Distribution Operations, joined PG&E in 2011. Previously, he held senior leadership roles in engineering and operations and other areas at Vista Energy Solutions, PNM Resources and Public Service Company of New Mexico. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from New Mexico State University.
