"With the Savi 700 Series and the CS500, we are changing the way productivity-focused office professionals are communicating. A DECT Forum security certification further underpins our commitment to delivering only the best to our consumers."

Sydney, AUST. 20 November 2014 - Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), a pioneer in wearable technology, today announced their DECT wireless office headset products, CS500 and Savi 700 Series are the first in the headset market to be certified by the DECT Forum as meeting their latest security standards. The DECT Forum is the international association of the wireless home and enterprise communication and an industry group focused on developing and improving DECT wireless technology. By incorporating the latest recommendations on enhanced security from the DECT Forum, Plantronics continues to lead headset technology with both functionality and security.

Announced in January 2013, the new standards provide guidelines and a compliance certification process to manufacturers for improvements to security in eight areas, including authentication, encryption, call setup, call progress and tear down. To obtain DECT Forum Security Certification, a product must comply with all recommendations and be submitted for independent verification at an approved test lab.

"This is a huge benchmark for us and a true testament to our enterprise communication solutions," said Graeme Gherbaz, Managing Director ANZ at Plantronics. "With the Savi 700 Series and the CS500, we are changing the way productivity-focused office professionals are communicating. A DECT Forum security certification further underpins our commitment to delivering only the best to our consumers."

"We are all about enabling rich audio connections and premium products to our consumers and this certification by the DECT Forum has proven why the CS500 and Savi Series are among the most popular headsets for businesses," said Susan Hansen VP of Sales & Marketing, APME (Asia Pacific & Middle East) at Plantronics.

Security certified CS500 Series headsets are available for purchase now. Certified Savi 700 Series headsets will begin shipping before the end of the year. Savi 400 Series updates will be available in early 2015. For Savi family products in-market, security updates can be obtained via firmware updates when available.
