CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Sep 2, 2014) - Platino Energy Corp. (TSX VENTURE:PZE) is pleased to announce that its board of directors has appointed Rafi Khouri to serve as Vice President, Business Development of the Corporation.

Mr. Khouri has provided business development services to the Corporation in a consulting role since June 2014, and brings close to 20 years of oil and gas experience to this role. He graduated from the American University of Beirut in Applied Chemistry and has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta. Before this appointment he was President of Resh Kaph Consulting Inc., a capital markets consultancy firm based in Alberta. Mr. Khouri spent seven years as a top rated equity analyst covering the international oil & gas sector, including as Sr. Vice President, Equity Capital Markets with Raymond James Ltd., where his work was focused on establishing and growing the international oil & gas research franchise. Mr. Khouri also spent 10 years in various technical and managerial roles in the oil and gas industry in Canada, Africa and the Middle East, including as corrosion engineer for Total S.A's Girassol project offshore Angola.

Platino has granted Mr. Khouri 500,000 options to acquire an equivalent number of common shares pursuant to the terms of its stock option plan. The options have an exercise price of $0.56 per share and expire on September 2, 2019. All stock option grants are subject to receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals.
