Popular, Inc. (NASDAQ: BPOP) announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share on its outstanding common stock. The dividend will be payable on October 7, 2015 to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 29, 2015. This represents a quarterly payout of approximately $15.5 million and is the first cash dividend the Corporation pays to its shareholders since April 2009.

"The cash dividend enables us to return excess capital to our shareholders while maintaining strong capital levels in line with our current operating environment," added Mr. Carrión.
