POSCO designated a period of one week from May 24 to May 30 as '2017 POSCO Global Volunteer Week, and will carry out various volunteer activities under the slogan of 'Global ONE POSCO, Volunteer Together.' POSCO's Global Volunteer Week is a representative social contribution activity of POSCO. During a one-week period, POSCO Group Volunteer Corps around the world perform talent sharing volunteer work in various regions of the world.

POSCO designated a period of one week from May 24 to May 30 as '2017 POSCO Global Volunteer Week, and will carry out various volunteer activities under the slogan of 'Global ONE POSCO, Volunteer Together.'

▶ POSCO will host '2017 POSCO Global Volunteer Week' for one week from May 24, and share talents and conduct volunteer activities in 52 countries around the world. The photo shows POSCO CEO Ohjoon Kwon and employees performing volunteer work during last year's Global Volunteer Week.

POSCO's Global Volunteer Week is a representative social contribution activity of POSCO. During a one-week period, POSCO Group Volunteer Corps around the world perform talent sharing volunteer work in various regions of the world. Since 2010, POSCO has been hosting the Global Volunteer Week every year around May 29, the foundation day of the POSCO Volunteer Corps.

This year, more than 79,000 employees of POSCO Group in 52 countries where affiliates of POSCO Group are present will undertake local community win-win activities to fulfill the company's social responsibility as a responsible global corporate citizen.

During this period, the employees of POSCO Group will carry out volunteer activities, such as improving the housing environment of the underprivileged in local communities, baking bread of love, providing mentoring for underprivileged children and drawing murals, all through talent sharing. POSCO CEO Ohjoon Kwon and over 30 employees will visit Myeongryundang of Sungkyunkwan Munmyo (Confucian Shrine) on May 30, and participate in cultural property preservation, e.g. replacing Changhoji (traditional Korean paper made from mulberry bark for doors and windows).

Localized volunteer activities will be carried out overseas as well as in Korea. In various countries around the world where POSCO Group operates business, e.g. China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Mexico and Poland, POSCO employees will carry out volunteer activities customized for the local communities, e.g. improving and repairing the welfare facilities in slum areas, cleaning up the environment, providing cultural activities and guidance for disabled children.

Meanwhile, POSCO is leveraging the abilities and talents of its employees through not only the 8th Global Volunteer Week, but also monthly Nanumto to ensure shared prosperity with all the local communities in the 52 countries where POSCO is present.
