Sussex, New Brunswick - As part of its commitment to those impacted by the suspension of Picadilly potash operations, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) today provided an update on its Community Transition Fund.

Announced on January 19, 2016, PotashCorp's CDN$5 million fund is comprised of three pillars: employee skills training and education, business transition assistance, and assistance to local charitable organizations.

As we collaborate with partners and local stakeholders and work to finalize details on the Community Transition Fund, key features of the fund will include:

· Up to $1 million to support local charitable and community organizations. More detail on this funding pillar will be available in the coming weeks.

· Up to $1 million to help transition local businesses that have been most impacted by the suspension of potash operations. Local consultation on this funding pillar will continue over the coming weeks and more information will be available at a later date.

· Up to $3 million to support training and education programs for our New Brunswick employees and their families. This includes up to a total of $7,500 per employee or immediate family members to access education or training from an accredited New Brunswick institution. All employees impacted by the suspension at Picadilly will be eligible. We are in the process of selecting an organizational partner to assist in delivering the program, and more details will be shared in the coming weeks.

'Over recent weeks we have been consulting with employees and community leaders in New Brunswick to ensure the Community Transition Fund will have the greatest impact possible,' said President, PCS Potash Mark Fracchia. 'We believe this fund not only helps provide impacted employees and their families with opportunities to enhance skills and training for employment, but also helps the greater community.'

As part of that effort, the company is today launching a dedicated webpage at www.potashcorp.com/newbrunswick where employees and area residents can provide feedback and stay informed. We will use this website to communicate new developments as more information becomes available.

As the world's largest crop nutrient company, PotashCorp plays an integral role in global food production. The company produces the three essential nutrients required to help farmers grow healthier, more abundant crops. With global population rising and diets improving in developing countries, crop nutrients such as potash, phosphates and nitrogen offer a responsible and practical solution to help produce the food we need, from the land we have.
