PRADA OPENS A NEW STORE IN WUHAN

Milan, May 6th, 2015 -Prada opens a new store in Wuhan, China, inside the prestigious
International Plaza shopping centre.
The space, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, covers a total area of approximately 950 square metres on a single level and houses the women's and men's ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and footwear collections.
The external façade, of remarkable visual impact, pays tribute to artist Carlo Cruz-Diez. The large entrance, light boxes and windows are inserted into the lower part of the façade, which is clad in black granite and crowned by an imposing gold and steel-coloured aluminium structure backlit to create a unique kinetic effect both day and night. Overall, the façade stands 10 metres tall and stretches approximately 50 metres in length. The internal façade, where the second entrance to the store is located, is also clad in black granite.
The interior is designed as a succession of spaces, each featuring a different atmosphere. The entrance inside the mall, defined by the signature black-and-white marble chequered
flooring, opens on an area housing the women'sleather goods and accessories collections. Green
fabric-clad walls with Prada's iconic cut-in niches with polished steel profiles define the space.

Green velvet sofas characterise the area dedicated to women's footwear.

The women's ready-to-wear collection is showcased in a space defined by green fabric-clad walls and transparent perspex display units.

The men's leather goods and accessories collections are nestled in polished steel display cases inserted into alcoves wrapped in black marble with green fabric-clad backdrops.


The space dedicated to the men's ready-to-wear and footwear collections is characterised by ebony floorboards and walls, chocolate brown carpeting and cotto-coloured leather sofas. Polished steel display cases and counters with drawers covered in coloured saffiano leather complete the furnishing.

PRADA PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE ART OF CARLOS CRUZ-DIEZ

Prada wishes to express its admiration for French-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, one of the leaders of the kinetic art movement, an innovative form of dynamic expression with a strong visual impact. Having always greatly appreciated Carlos Cruz- Diez and his contribution to this artistic genre, Prada wishes to publicly pay homage to his artwork, which served as a starting point for the design of the façade of the Prada boutique located in Wuhan, International Plaza, 690 Jiefang Ave, Jianghan, Wuhan,

Hubei, China.
