PPC Ltd once again received recognition for its contribution to the business world at this year's Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The awards, produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards and International Business Awards, honour female executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the organisations that they are involved in worldwide.

This year's Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners were announced at an awards dinner held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City on Friday, 14th November.  More than 1,200 entries were submitted this year by organisations and individuals in 22 nations around the world for consideration in more than 90 categories including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year.

The cement giant's own Corporate Social Responsibility maven, Francie Shonhiwa received gold in the Women Helping Women in Business category with Tryphosa Ramano and Juanita September each receiving bronze in the Female Executive of the Year and Maverick of the Year categories respectively. Finalists are chosen by more than 100 business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.

Michael Gallagher, President and Founder of the Stevie Awards said: "PPC Ltd should be very proud of their three Stevie Award wins in the 2014 Stevie Awards for Women in Business.  Our panel of distinguished judges deemed PPC Ltd as the highest scoring Stevie Awards entry in the Women Helping Women - All Other Industries category. Francie Shonhiwa of PPC Ltd.'s efforts in creating an income-generating project at Time for Change, a home of abused women and young girls living on the streets, was most impressive to the judging panel. Along with being the leading supplier of cement in southern Africa, their collection of entries to the Stevie Awards for Women in Business shows that they are not only a supplier, but also a leader in promoting women in the workplace, and the world."

"PPC is honoured to be acknowledged for its involvement in driving positive change in the communities in which we operate.  To be placed alongside international businesses that have led transformation all over the world is a great tribute and a strong validation of our continued dedication to the mission that is inclusive business," emphasised Francie Shonhiwa, PPC Head of Corporate Social Investment.

"We are privileged to receive the recognition and the awards; it drives PPC to continue in our endeavours towards developing an inclusive workplace and sustainable communities," concluded Shonhiwa.
