Progress (NASDAQ:PRGS) today announced that experts from its Data Connectivity and Integration business unit will address a range of integration challenges facing today’s enterprises at Dreamforce 2015, September 15-18 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. In addition to demonstrations of its latest tools and technologies, including its connectors with Salesforce1 Lightning Connect, attendees will have the opportunity to hear real-world success stories from Progress customers such as Intuit.

“Real-time data integration and connectivity has always been a challenge for businesses, and accessing legacy data from Salesforce apps is no different. As companies leverage Salesforce, there is a tendency to want to consolidate legacy data onto the new platform. However, migration often presents challenges,” said Michael Benedict, President, Data Connectivity and Integration, Progress. “At Dreamforce we will discuss those challenges and how users can access back-office data instantly and more easily from Salesforce1 applications.”

As a leader in Salesforce’s integration provider ecosystem, Progress provides support for OData and Salesforce1 Lightning Connect, making integration with Salesforce easier and more powerful with real-time data. The Progress® DataDirect Cloud® offering is the fastest way to bring back office data such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server into Salesforce1 and Force.com applications.

Progress will hold briefings at booths W837 and W839 in the Cloud Expos. Dreamforce program sessions presented by Progress include:

Tuesday, September 15

  • “Lightning Connect: Lessons Learned,” presented by Sumit Sarkar, Chief Data Evangelist, Progress. Ever since it first emerged on the scene, the Salesforce1 platform has completely transformed the way we think about customer relationship management (CRM). This session will provide a behind-the-scenes look at a Salesforce1 Lightning Connect Proof of Concept, and a realistic account of connecting to systems behind corporate firewalls.

Wednesday, September 16

  • “How Intuit Implemented Lightning Connect with Progress DataDirect Cloud,” presented by Idaliz Baez, Sales Engineer, Progress and Vamsi Vasireddy, Staff Software Engineer, Intuit. This session will discuss how Intuit successfully used the Progress DataDirect Cloud service in conjunction with Lightning Connect to deliver a unified user experience.

The Progress DataDirect Cloud offering simplifies connectivity to Salesforce data and any application built on the Force.com platform. By leveraging ODBC/JDBC industry standards, users get fast, real-time access to Salesforce data from most BI and reporting tools, as well as instant compatibility with existing applications and infrastructure. In addition, Salesforce1 Lightning Connect integrates and configures external data objects in minutes. The combination of Lightning Connect and the DataDirect Cloud service empowers users to access back-office data easily from Salesforce1 applications and have rapid connectivity to data residing in the cloud or on-premise, so applications get out the door faster.
