- The net profit grew by 2.7%, to €172 million

Madrid, 27 February 2013. - The results at the end of 2012 in Prosegur with a turnover of €3,669 million, 30.6% over the previous year.

Prosegur's EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) amounted to €312 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.6% over 2011. Moreover, the consolidated net result in 2012 grew by 2.7%, exceeding €172 million.


Despite the uneven economic environment marked by the strong contrast between the recession in Europe and the growth in Latin America, the results confirmed the strength of the Company's strategy, based on specialised security solutions and a combination of organic and inorganic growth.
In this regard, throughout 2011 and 2012 Prosegur carried out a total of 20 acquisitions amounting to over €570 million. This allowed the Company to operate in new markets, complete its range of services and strengthen its leading position.

Prosegur's successful international strategy and the advantages it brings to the Company contributed to the increase in turnover and the maintenance of its activity in Europe, where the economic environment led to a significant downturn in results of countries such as Spain, with a drop in sales of 1%, and Portugal, with a fall of 3%. In Asia, where Prosegur was already active in India and Singapore, it has also begun to provide services in China and continues with its learning period in the market. As a result of a significant effort made both from a sales and a cash-flow generation perspective, the Company posted €1,491 million in revenues, a 15.5% increase over the year before, in the region of Europe and Asia.

As for Latin America, where Brazil continues to be the main country for the Company, sales soared by over 43.5% in 2012, reaching €2,178 million.


Consolidation of an integrated product offering
Prosegur's model of integrated security, with three lines of business - Guarding, Cash in Transit and Technology - is based on customer-friendliness, excellence and quality in its product offering. The Company provides specific solutions adapted to the needs of each industry via services such as active manned guarding, cash management services and security devices for homes and commercial
premises, among others.

The Guarding division in 2012 posted €1,684 million in turnover, a 24% rise over 2011. This was due to sales in Latin America, which increased by over 60.6% reaching sales in excess of €775 million. On the other hand, earnings in Europe and Asia remained stable with a slight increase of 3.9%.

As for Cash in Transit services, these posted a turnover of €1,574 million, an increase of more than 43.3% over the previous year. By geographical area, Latin America grew by almost 34.7% to €1,193 million. Sales in Europe and Asia posted €381 million in turnover, an increase of 79%.

Finally, Prosegur Technology business line posted €411 million in revenues, a 16.5% increase over 2011. Thus, in the Latin American region, the Company reached a growth of over 40.4%, to €210 million, whereas in Europe, sales amounted to €201 million, a 1% drop compared to previous year's results.
