• Reza Izad appointed as Global CEO of Studio71 with Los Angeles location

Berlin/Los Angeles, April 12, 2017. A change in the top management of Studio71 is to take place, with Sebastian Romanus and Johann Griebl assuming responsibility for the business of ProSiebenSat.1 Group's multi-channel network. They are taking over from Sebastian Weil and Ronald Horstman, who will be leaving at their own request as of June 30 after four successful years building up the company. Oliver Strutynski, who has led Studio71's global financial organization since August last year, was also appointed to the management and will coordinate the establishment of new national companies in Italy and France in the future.

At the same time, ProSiebenSat.1 is realigning the international organization of Studio71 and appointing Reza Izad, who was previously mainly responsible for US business, as Global CEO of Studio71 reporting to Christof Wahl, Member of the Executive Board, ProSiebenSat.1.

Sebastian Romanus will start at Juni 1 at Studio71 and is coming from Maker Studios, where he was responsible for business in Germany. He already worked at ProSiebenSat.1's marketer SevenOne Media from 2005 to 2007, and has also held posts at Deutsches Sport-Fernsehen and goviral GmbH, where he acted as Managing Director for the DACH countries. Johann Griebl has been on board as a co-founder since Studio71 was first established and was previously responsible for the area of artists and content as Senior Vice President. He began his career as Head of Business Development at Deluxe Music Television. Since 2011, he has worked in various different roles at the Munich-based media group.

Christof Wahl, Member of the Executive Board, Digital, & COO ProSiebenSat.1 Group: 'In founding and developing Studio71, Sebastian Weil and Ronald Horstman created one of the world's biggest and most successful online video companies from scratch with distinct entrepreneurial talent. I very much regret their departure and would like to thank them for their excellent work over the past four years. At the same time, I am delighted that the experienced founder and manager Reza Izad will now be taking on the global role as CEO of Studio71. He will step up the international expansion together with our new Managing Directors Sebastian Romanus and Johann Griebl.'

Sebastian Weil, founder of Studio71: 'When we launched Studio71 in 2013, we had no idea how big this company was to become. So we are all the more grateful to ProSiebenSat.1 and the fantastic Studio71 team that we have been able to achieve this together. We wish the new management team all the best and look forward to watching the further development of Studio71.'

Studio71 was founded in 2013 and quickly established itself as the market leader with around 500 million video views per month and innovative web-only productions in the German-speaking region. Its international expansion began in 2015 with the acquisition of a majority in the US network 'Collective Digital Studio,' which now also trades under the name Studio71. In January, TF1 and Mediaset joined as new investors at a company valuation of EUR 400 million. Studio71 achieves a total of around seven billion video views a month, making it one of the top three players worldwide. Its focus is on premium content. The company is represented in seven countries with a total of ten branch offices and employs around 220 people.
