PROXIMUS : Dominique Leroy wins LEAD-IN’s Leadership Award

First female and youngest winner of the 8 edition of this award

On 20 April LEAD-IN, the organization of and for leaders, presented the 8th Leadership Award to Dominique Leroy, during the Leaders Connect Congress in Brussels, for the way in which she has led Proximus for the past two years.

On Wednesday 20 April, Proximus CEO Dominique Leroy was granted the 8th Leadership Award at the Leadership Congress in Brussels, in the presence of a large number of CEOs and directors of top-tier companies.

For the past eight years, LEAD-IN (formerly Vma) has been granting the Leadership Award to leaders 'who, through sustained integrity, management abilities and inspirational leadership, have forged an exceptional career. This award is special recognition for a personality from the economic and industrial sector of society, who is a role model and also valorizes this socially.'

Dominique Leroy is the youngest winner and first woman to receive this recognition. The previous award winners were Luc De Bruyckere, Julien De Wilde, Herman Daems, Peter Piot, Paul Bulcke, Johnny Thijs and Thomas Leysen.

During the award ceremony, people who know Dominique Leroy well and have worked or still work with her, within or outside the company, testified to her leadership qualities.

Dominique Leroy: 'It is a great honor to win this Leadership Award. When I took up the challenge two years ago to restore growth to Proximus, I was driven by the values I truly believe in: a positive mindset, creating and implementing a vision, putting that vision into practice in a customer-centric strategy, and never ceasing to communicate that vision to others. I also believe in authentic leadership, centered on building a culture based on the right corporate values, with attention to constant feedback and coaching. The aim being to create an environment in which people dare to take risks, have the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, but also take the time to celebrate their successes. As a leader, I make a conscious effort to be a role model every day, close to customers and employees. Ultimately, it's about inspiring people around you because they're the ones who can really make a difference!'
