Proximus together with its partner Fon offer its customers access to over 1,3 million Wi-Fi Hotspots in Belgium and over 20 million worldwide. To celebrate World Wi-Fi Day, everyone is invited to enjoy 24 hours of free Wi-Fi access in Belgium.

The 20 of June is World Wi-Fi Day, a new initiative of the Wireless Broadband Alliance to help bridge the digital divide. It aims to raise awareness about the importance of being connected and the essential role that Wi-Fi plays in this connected world. People increasingly want to be connected anytime, anywhere and whenever they want. They want to instantly share music, videos, pictures or information with their friends and family on the internet. However, in some markets, the infrastructure is not yet optimal, making it much more difficult to stay connected.

Proximus and Fon support World Wi-Fi Day and invite everyone to join. Users can get online thanks to a special promo code, and connect to Proximus-Fon hotspots in Belgium to enjoy one day of free Wi-Fi for everyone.

Everyone can participate in the celebration of World Wi-Fi Day and get free access by following five simple steps:

1. Go to your Wi-Fi settings, search for a 'PROXIMUS_FON' Wi-Fi signal and connect
2. Launch a webpage in your browser (you will be redirected to a Fon portal)
3. In the portal, select 'Promo Code'
4. Login to Fon or register as a new user
5. Enter in the code 'ProximusFon' and click 'Redeem'
