Mayor Baraka and Prudential Financial to Host Small Business Summit on Wednesday, January 14

Mayor will define his vision and agenda to support local entrepreneurs and small business owners

Panels and workshops will provide business owners with information and tools for growth and expansion

NEWARK, N.J., January 09, 2015 - Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the Newark Municipal Council, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Baye Adofo-Wilson and Prudential Financial, will host the Newark Small Business Summit on Wednesday, January 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), located at 1 Center Street, in the City's Downtown.

At the summit, Mayor Baraka and his administration will define their vision and agenda for small business development to local and regional business owners and entrepreneurs. There will be panel discussions which will include experts on small business development and growth, workshops on financing and start-ups, and information sessions.

John Schreiber, President and CEO of NJPAC, John Strangfeld, chairman and CEO of Prudential Financial and co-chair of the NJPAC Board of Directors, and Mayor Ras Baraka will give opening remarks.
