On Saturday, October 11, 2014, thousands of Prudential Financial employees, along with their families, friends and clients, will participate in the company’s 20th annual Global Volunteer Day. Teams of volunteers around the world will lend their time and talent to community service activities with nonprofit organizations where employees have a passion. Over the past 20 years, approximately 500,000 people have participated in over 12,000 community projects around the world.

To mark the 20th Global Volunteer Day, Prudential is engaging senior executives in 20 signature projects around the world. Participants will beautify parks, build houses, volunteer at soup kitchens and food banks, and engage in many other activities.

“At Prudential, we encourage employees to use their passions, business skills and expertise to make meaningful contributions to their communities throughout the year,” said Spring Lacy, vice president of corporate engagement. “We are excited to build on 20 successful years of Global Volunteer Day and move from a single day of volunteerism to providing our employees with year-round opportunities to volunteer and engage with nonprofit organizations in the communities where we live, work and do business.”

Global Volunteer Day is coordinated by Prudential’s Corporate & Community Engagement team, which leads the company’s community involvement and employee volunteerism under the “Prudential CARES” banner. Follow this year’s Global Volunteer Day events on Twitter at #PruCares.
