Lori Dickerson Fouché, chief executive officer, Prudential Group Insurance, a business unit of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU), and Sharon C. Taylor, senior vice president, Human Resources, stood out among thousands of candidates, across numerous industries, to make Black Enterprise’s 2015 “50 Most Powerful Women in Corporate America” list.

“We applaud Lori and Sharon for receiving such a well deserved honor and for their commitment to professional excellence,” said Sekhar Ramaswamy, chief talent officer, Prudential Financial, Inc. “Lori and Sharon continue to raise the bar with respect to Prudential's focus on leadership and talent management, of which diversity and inclusion is a critical component. They demonstrate the impact that strong leaders can have not just on an organization, but on an entire industry.”

The list was developed by Black Enterprise’s editorial team to both celebrate and showcase the determination and tenacity displayed by these women in order to overcome traditional barriers women executives face. All honorees were featured in the magazine’s February 2015 cover story.

“The Black Enterprise list is a testament to the significant contributions women continue to make to ensure the success of corporate America,” said Sharon C. Taylor, Senior Vice President, Human Resources. “As we celebrate this honor, I sincerely hope we’ll redouble our efforts to champion diversity and inclusion for the benefit of future leaders.”

With the final 50 on the list having authority over budgets totaling billions of dollars, control of subsidiaries, divisions and departments, and autonomy over the direction of their businesses; the list serves as a living testament that women continue to break the proverbial glass ceiling.

“I am very honored to be recognized among this year’s group of highly accomplished women,” said Fouché. “Most importantly, I think it sends a clear signal to young black women that they, too, can achieve their highest career aspirations ˗ and should continually persevere toward their dreams.” This is the second time Fouché has been named to the list.

Executives who made the list were also honored at Black Enterprise’s 2015 Women of Power Summit which took place in March in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
