PSS WORLD MEDICAL INC

Education Fund, a program that awards educational
scholarships to children of team members to help offset the
costs of a college education. An independent committee, the
Florida State College Foundation, selects recipients based on
a number of criteria including financial need, GPA and
extracurricular activities.
Six students have been selected this year for the
scholarship; each student receives $3,000 per school year and
is eligible to receive up to $12,000. This year's
recipients include:
- Sarah Horen, attending Colorado School of Mines, daughter
of David Horen, PSS Denver
- Michelle Duong, attending University of California, Irvine,
daughter of Danh Duong, PSS Southern California
- Nicholas Burchstead, attending University of Kansas, son of
Bradford Burchstead, PSS Heartland
- Kimberly Lynch, attending University of Tennessee,
Knoxville, daughter of Mark Lynch, InfoLab Clarksdale, MS
- Lydia Ratcliffe, attending Jones Jr. College, daughter of
Mark Ratcliffe, Gulf South Jackson
- Darlene Tieu, attending University of California, Los
Angeles, daughter of Fond Tieu, PSS/DSI Santa Ana.
The PSS World Medical Education Fund was established in 2006.
Each year, the Fund awards scholarships to selected children
of PSS team members. Devon Ross, education fund recipient in
2007 and now a current team member at PSS, says
"Receiving the PSS WM Education Fund Scholarship truly
enhanced my life. Not only was it a vital part of completing
my collegiate career, but it helped me find a partner in PSS
World Medical. Graduating from college was a huge
accomplishment and a lifelong dream for my family. I have PSS
to thank! It has also allowed me to continue on my career
with the company that has helped every step of the way. I can
truly say there's no other company I'd rather be
working for than PSS World Medical."
The 7th Annual PSS World Medical Educational Fund Golf
Tournament will be held on Friday October 5, 2012 in St.
Augustine, Florida. Last year, the tournament raised $137,000
to help fund the scholarship program.
