QUARTER III-2012 PERFORMANCE-Telkom record revenue Rp
56.9 trillions

Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom)
successfully record an impressive financial performance
growth during Quarter III-2012 marked by an increase
of revenue at
Rp 56.9 trillions growing around
Rp 4.0 trillions or 7.6 % while net profit
reaching Rp 10 trillions or an increase 19.3 %.
Such a
revenue increase is caused mainly by additional number of
cellular subscribers and high sales in data service,
i
nternet and
Information
Technology (IT).
According to President Director of Telkom, Arief
Yahya, "Data Service
, Internetand IT
record significantly and become an important
growth driver for the company and
supported by huge number of cellular subscribers in mid
of tight market competition
." He adds, "to improve service to subscribers and to
expand data center business through its subsidiary,
Telkomsigma have acquired data center at
Sentul area West Java. Telkom
have
dominated 3,
800 m2of the
data
center.
Telkom,Arief Yahyacontinues, have
a plan to possess 24,
000 m2 data
center. Such a revenue increase is
among other things supported by the revenue from
Data, Internet and Information Technology
services reaching Rp 20.1 trillions, an
increase at
Rp 2
.1 trillions or grows 12.2 % and revenue interconnection
reaching Rp 3.1 trillions, an increase at Rp 463
billions or grows 17.6
% compared with the
same period in 2011.
Revenue from cellular service is admitted to
have still given a huge contribution to Telkom,
followed by
Data, Internet and IT Services
as the second largest contributor with a growth
at 6.5
% compared with last Quarter
II-2012. "
We are glad seeing such a drastic
increase of number of broadband subscribers,
showing the Company success in making an investment
in high-speed
internet
infrastructure service accompanied by cost efficiency
in line with cost controlling program we
do," says
Arief Yahya. According to him,
an impressive performance in 2012
indicates a positive sign that the company is running
to a sound growth direction.
Cellular grow fast
The most impressive growth is seen in the
cellular service
. Cellular service revenue reach
Rp 39.8 trillions or an increase at
Rp 3.8 trillions or grows 10.6 %.
In Quarter III-2012
cellular service
record an extraordinary performance by monthly revenue
at
Rp 5 trillions. This confirms Telkom's cellular service as
the market leader in Indonseia's cellular
industry
.
The growth is in line with a huge increase of
subscribers at16.6
% compared with last
year period to become121.5
millions or
grows at14.6 millons.
Growth of number of
cellular subscribers is connected with an additional number
of BTS (Base Transceiver Station)
reaching 24 %
compared with last year
period in2011. Now number of BTS
possessed has 51,006 BTS including
13,416
3G Node-B.
By the increase of cellular subscribers,
up to
Quarter III-2012, total number of
Telkom
Groupsubscribers at 147
millions with
the breakdown that number of cellular subscribers
increase 16.6 % compared with the same period
last year to become 121.5
millions with an additional
number of subscribers at 14.6 millions from post pay
subscribers at 2.1
millions and pre pay subscribers
at 119.3 millions
.
In relation with an effort to make business
expansion through one of Telkom's subsidiaries,
PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International
(Telin), Telkom have a license
of spec
trum for cellular phone service at
the frequency of 850 MHz, 900 MHz and
2.1 GHZ
and registration of provider service in
Timor
Leste. By the license, Telin are ready to
make a
Global System service for
Mobile Communication (GSM) and 3G in
Timor
Leste with a total of investment around
US$ 50 millions for the first five
years
. Telin will provide a complete service in Timor Leste with
full support of PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel).
Telin provide main service in the form of wireless
broadband, business solutions,
and digital life style. Besides,
Telin will also provide network-based
service such as data service and
transit Internet Protocol (IP)
Broadband much stronger
Significant increase of number of subscribers
also recorded on
broadband service. Number of broadband service
subscribers increases 42.5 % to be 15.9 millions
meaning Telkom
have the largest broadband subscribers in
Indonesia
. While fixed telephone also increases
4.0 % to be 8.8 millions. Recorded also
growth of BlackBerry subscribers to 68.7 % to be 5.1
millions. Flash subscribers also grow fast at 45.6
% to be 8.6
millions andSpeedy
subscribers become 2.1 millions
.
To strengthen broadband
business, Telkom
make business transformation in
Flexi
from
wireless narrowband to
wireless
broadband. The unit
managing Flexi
business has been transformed from
Division
Telkom Flexi (DTF) to
Division Wireless Broadband
(DWB) managing Telkom's WiFi
business with
Indonesia's WiFi brand
( @wifi.id ).
Other good revenue recorded in the
interconnection service with a growth
17.6 % compared with Quarter III 2011 or Rp 463 billions.
The growth also seen on other services such as
Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), Universal
Service Obligation (USO)
and tower rent recorded an increase at Rp 384 billions or
grows 23.1 % compared with the same period last year
.
While expenses up to Quarter III-2012 has grown 4.0 %
due to an increase in interconnection at 33.4
% and
general and administration expenses at23.8 %
.
EBITDA at this Quarter III achieves
Rp 29.9 trillions or grows 10.4 %
.
In relation with failure of Telkom3 Satellite
orbit, Telkom has received a letter from ISS
Reshetnev Rusia
as the main contractor of the Telkom3
Satellite stating that Telkom3 Satellite has been lost since
the satellite not returning to the orbit due to an anomaly in
the launching process on August 7, 2012. Telkom have
fully insured Telkom3 Satellite to PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia
(Jasindo) and
Jasindo have confirmed to pay full
claims to Telkom.
