Somporn Vongvuthipornchai, President and CEO of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), as the Executive Committee Chairman of the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), said this year's IPTC has been well received by leaders, professionals and experts in the oil and gas industry. Despite tough market conditions, delegates from more than 50 countries have already confirmed their attendance to the renowned international conference. More than 4,000 delegates are expected to participate in the event.

PTTEP has the great honor of being the host of the 10 edition of IPTC, which will be organized between 14 - 16 November 2016 at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Center at CentralWorld, under the theme 'Innovation and Efficiency Excellence for our Energy Future'. Moreover, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will graciously preside over the official opening ceremony. General Anantaporn Kanjanarat, The Energy Minister, will also deliver his keynote address to all delegates on the opening day.

Executives in oil and gas sector to share their viewpoints towards the current situation

This edition of IPTC will be attended by executives and people working in leading oil and gas firms, for instance PETRONAS, Chevron, Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobil, Total, Woodside Energy, Weatherford International, Schlumberger and Baker Hughes. These participants will join the conference to share their visions and ideas on a variety of topics, such as 'Innovation and Efficiency Excellence for our Energy Future', 'Innovative Technology and Industry Trends', 'Advances in Technology to Access Resources' and 'Gas Business Strategy and Development in Asia'.
Over 30 companies from around the world will exhibit the latest technologies.

More than 30 companies from around the world will exhibit their innovations and advanced technologies in the exhibition hall. Also, PTTEP and companies under the PTT Group will showcase exciting new technologies, such as technology that improves exploration success rates and increase the effectiveness of petroleum production. The highlight technology is the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) developed by Thais for the improvement of maintenance and safety with cost efficiencies for PTTEP's operations.

University students in related fields to attend the event with free of charge

Especially of note, this year's IPTC will provide an opportunity for university students in the fields of geology and engineering to attend the exhibition and technical programs at no charge. They will be able to attend the technical sessions, knowledge sharing sessions through E-Poster, and 250 technical paper presentations. This provides a marvelous opportunity for Thai university students to get first-hand information and learn of newly developed technologies being used in the oil and gas industry from professionals working in this industry.

Additionally, there will be a new and exciting activity 'Ask the Experts' session, where attendees are able to discuss with and propose questions to experts in the oil and gas industry regarding current problems and challenges, as well as ways to overcome them for example Offshore field development and project management, hydraulic fracturing - On the rise for 60+ years in North America and still having the potential to deliver international production growth in the decades ahead.

In addition to the exhibition and technical programs, IPTC also organizes educational activities for both local and international students. Thai students from 20 high schools countrywide will work with their advisors to come up with creative ideas for the scientific project competition. Geology and engineering students from around the world will exchange knowledge on technical project management for the oil and gas business. They will be mentored by experts from various organizations.

Moreover, there will be an activity organized for young professionals working in the oil and gas sector where attendees will get to brainstorm, share perspectives and experience in order to solve real problems in the industry. Executives from leading oil and gas companies will also share their views and experience with them.
