PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) has commenced its Southern camp activity under the 4 PTTEP Teenergy project under this year's theme - 'Step Up to Conservation'. Seventy high-school students have been selected from 773 applicants from 14 provinces in Southern Thailand to join the camp, participate in the workshop and learn firsthand marine resources conservation. The activity is being held at General Prem Tinsulanonda Historical Park in Songkhla province from September 1 - 3, 2017.
Organised in collaboration with the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Department of Environmental Quality and Virtuous Youth Foundation, the 4 PTTEP Teenergy activity provides opportunity for young Thais to learn about natural resources and environment conservation including mangrove ecosystem, marine conservation and crab hatchery and release process through a number of hands-on activities. The participants are also invited to visit the Petroleum Development Support Base, a logistic center of PTTEP in Songkla which supports oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Thailand.
Mrs. Pranot Tirasai, PTTEP's Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs Group said 'The 4 PTTEP Teenergy hosts four camps in four regions. The first camp in the central region was held in August. This Southern camp aims to educate young people about coastal ecology and environmental conservation as well as encourage them to share the knowledge with their communities.

Apart from learning about marine resources, the students also initiated projects for natural resources and environmental conservation. Ten outstanding initiatives will receive 100,000 baht fund from PTTEP to implement the projects at their schools and communities.

The 4 PTTEP Teenergy project maintains its objective to raise awareness of natural and environmental conservation. The distinctive idea of this year is integrating the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy with the concept 'Step Up for Conservation' that represents an important step for the green-at-heart youths who are trained in the camp and ready to become a driving forces for sustainable environmental conservation.

The next camp under the 4 PTTEP Teenergy project will take place in the North Eastern region during October 9 - 11, 2017, taking young participants to Phu Foilom Ecological Tourism Project site in Nong Saeng district, Udon Thani province.

The PTTEP Teenergy project is implemented under the 3C strategy: Cultivate-Create-Change, with an intention to cultivate the awareness of natural resources and the environment among the young Thais by providing out-of-classroom learning opportunity. The project is expected to create conservation-minded youths and establish networks for social contribution. It is an essential start for young people to step up for social activities, driving changes for better community and society.
