PSEG Elects Robert C. Braun as President & Chief Nuclear Officer, PSEG Nuclear

(February 18, 2015 - Newark, NJ) - PSEG announced the retirement today of Thomas P. Joyce, president and chief nuclear officer (CNO) of PSEG Nuclear, effective March 31, 2015.  Joyce will retire after 40 years in the nuclear industry including the past ten years at PSEG Nuclear where he served as president and CNO since 2008.

"Tom's leadership and impact on our operations as well as the nuclear industry will be missed," said William Levis, president and chief operating officer of PSEG Power.  "He has had a key role in our success including the record setting reactor head replacement at Salem, the Hope Creek extended power uprate, the license renewal of both stations' operating licenses and many more."

PSEG also announced today the promotion and election of Robert C. Braun to succeed Joyce.  With more than 30 years of experience in the nuclear industry, Braun has served the past several years as senior vice president and chief operating officer of PSEG Nuclear.  He joined the company in March 2007 as vice president of operations support.

In his new role, Braun will continue to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of PSEG's Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations which is the second largest commercial nuclear generating facility in the United States.  He will now serve as the organization's primary contact with industry regulators and organizations.  He will also report directly to Levis and be a member of PSEG's Executive Officer Group.

Braun previously served as site vice president of Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, which is co-owned by PSEG and Exelon Corporation.  Prior to his appointment at Peach Bottom, he was vice president-nuclear oversight of Exelon's nuclear group headquarters.  He also served as plant manager of Exelon's Limerick Generating Station where he held a senior reactor operator license.  He began his career at Limerick in 1982.

Braun has a bachelor of mechanical engineering degree from Villanova University.  He is a member of the Penn State University Nuclear Power Advisory Board.  He is a past member of the Rowan University Foundation.

"We are confident that Bob will be able to build upon our success and further our efforts to be an industry leader," said Levis. "He also understands the role we play in the local community and how their support is vital to the success of our current and future operations."
