(NEWARK, N.J. - Sept. 19, 2017) Employees of Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), New Jersey's largest electric and gas utility, are on the move helping with hurricane preparation and recovery efforts. This morning the utility dispatched 107 workers to aid Long Island customers should they lose power from Hurricane Jose. Meanwhile, the PSE&G contingent in Melbourne, Fla., is moving north to Daytona, where they will continue to bring back power to people in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

'Our highly-skilled employees working in Florida have restored power to 35,000 customers hit hard by Irma,' said John Latka, PSE&G senior vice president of electric and gas operations. 'We're dispatching more workers to help with potential loss of power on Long Island, and keeping a watchful eye on other storms spinning in the Atlantic.'

In Sandy's aftermath, 4,700 linemen and support personnel from as far away as New Mexico, Florida and the Province of Quebec came to PSE&G's aid. 'We know the importance of getting the lights back on for customers, and are fortunate to be in a position to assist,' Latka said.
