Qlik® (NASDAQ: QLIK), a leader in data discovery, today announced that FOX SPORTS PULSE, one of the world’s largest online sporting communities, is using QlikView® to analyze customer registration and purchase data to improve sales performance.

FOX SPORTS PULSE provides solutions for registrations and payments, websites, membership, and competition management that are used by 2.2 million participants at over 30,000 sporting clubs in Australia and New Zealand. To better understand the needs of its customers, FOX SPORTS PULSE needed a guided analytics solution that offered faster data analysis and real-time collaboration across its teams to reduce response time and act on new opportunities quickly. The organization was keen to replace its spreadsheet-based reporting system, which was time-consuming and could not deliver the timely and strategic reporting, budgeting, and forecasting they needed to achieve their sales targets.

With QlikView deployed to various business teams including finance, sales, and marketing in just ten days, FOX SPORTS PULSE was able to immediately analyze 1.5 million records to understand services that are performing well, and improve those that are not. They were also able to identify opportunities to sell or upsell services to customers.

“There’s no question that our sales opportunities have increased now that we can view different data sets with the QlikView dashboard,” said Mathew Lalor, General Manager, Finance, FOX SPORTS PULSE. “For example, our sales team can see if a club is taking membership payments through our online payments gateway or whether they’re using another mode. We can then create different scenarios to see how they might benefit from using our other services.”

FOX SPORTS PULSE also uses QlikView for seamless, real-time collaboration among its employees who are based in different parts of Australia. With data easily accessible for analysis with QlikView, teams based in different cities are able to create ‘what if’ scenarios on the fly with each other, making collaboration and decision-making much more effective. To make an impact on sales revenues, FOX SPORTS PULSE is also exploring getting more data such as website traffic statistics into the platform for analysis.

“I have great confidence in deploying QlikView to more employees across the organization. The adoption rate has been very strong and I’ve seen staff learning how to use a dashboard after a couple of 15-minute teleconferences. When I see people using the QlikView dashboard each time I walk past their desk, it’s a great feeling,” said Lalor.

“The ability to not only gain faster insights into customer data but enable collaboration amongst different business units is a game-changer for any organization,” said Sharryn Millican, Vice President and Regional Director of Qlik Australia and New Zealand. “FOX SPORTS PULSE has empowered its users with direct access to data analysis and sharing, encouraging them to collaborate and identify new opportunities for the business. This has resulted in a direct and positive impact on their sales revenues and operations.”
