Today, CHEP announced that it will begin using Qlik® (NASDAQ: QLIK), a leader in visual analytics, to further transform its service delivery and supply chain enterprises. Qlik delivers raw data in a visual dashboard enabling CHEP, the world’s leading provider of pallet and container pooling solutions, to gain a competitive advantage on service delivery and supply chain efficiencies.

CHEP implemented QlikView throughout the organization to enable visibility and gain real-time intelligence on key supply chain events, such as Customer Order Status, Operational Efficiencies, Service and Financials. CHEP was seeking a simple and intuitive platform that offered visualization, data exploration, and analysis along with report generation and scheduling to aggregate large amounts of data from numerous applications. Thus far, the Qlik visual data and analytics dashboards enable CHEP to raise industry standards on demand planning and forecasting accuracy, production planning, transportation, service delivery, and financial projections.

“Implementing Qlik has aided us in truly seeing all of our data – from start to finish – to gain invaluable intelligence into key supply chain events,” said Scott Roberts, Vice President of Planning and Logistics at CHEP. “We have been able to increase the level of customer service and optimize the efficiencies and costs throughout the supply chain.”

By leveraging Qlik’s data mining and visual dashboards, CHEP is able to share the information throughout the organization in a push-pull system; pushing the analytics through email, text alerts and floor displays, while pulling analytics from users who input information into the portal. This allows decision makers to obtain real-time insights throughout the different stages of an order delivery; from the time an order is generated, to assigning a service center, to when the trailer is loaded and in-transit, to customer delivery. The ability to access real-time data on the go enables the team to respond to and rectify potential issues, such as late delivery before they escalate.

“Utilizing Qlik within supply chain organizations is incredibly powerful for seeking answers to critical business essentials such as customer service, forecasting, and production planning,” said David Telford, Senior Director, Sector Group & Global Supply Chain Lead at Qlik. “Qlik enables decision makers at CHEP to see the whole story in a quick, easy to digest visual dashboard, which empowers real-time, fact-based decisions, ultimately enabling the team to redirect or change course if needed for strategic advantage.”
