QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator of ultra-low power programmable sensor processing solutions, today announced the addition of several new user contexts and gestures to its extensive SenseMe™ library of industry-leading sensor algorithms. The additions include a "swimming" context, an enhanced low energy pedometer, and a special "wake-up" gesture optimized for smartwatches. Additionally, QuickLogic has tested and validated its sensor processing solution as being Android CTS 5.1 compliant.

The new swimming context improves fitness measurements with stroke tracking for freestyle swimming. Combined with existing running and biking contexts in the SenseMe library, the new swimming context enables OEMs to support a full triathlon user mode. The enhanced low energy pedometer algorithm adds the ability to accurately capture slow, gentle steps (the hardest type to capture) to the SenseMe library's best-in-class pedometer.

The "wake up" gesture is often considered a critical element in smartwatch designs. False positive readings waste power by turning on the display when it's not needed, and undetected wake up gestures frustrate users. The SenseMe algorithm library offers OEMs options that are designed for specific use cases. QuickLogic's newest wake up gesture turns on the display when it senses a series of movements consisting of the user raising his or her hand from the side, rotating the wrist and then pausing. 

The QuickLogic sensor processing solution, consisting of SenseMe algorithms and the ArcticLink® 3 S2 ultra-low power sensor hub, is Android CTS 5.1 compliant. This ensures device OEMs that the QuickLogic sensor processing solution will provide a consistent experience when running on their devices, and enables the large pool of Android developers to create new and unique applications and use cases.
