MAHWAH, New Jersey, February 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Radware [http://www.radware.com ](R) (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery [http://www.radware.com/Products/ApplicationDelivery/default.aspx ] and application security [http://www.radware.com/Products/ApplicationNetworkSecurity/default.aspx ] solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, announces it will discuss several real-life cyber attacks on stock exchanges, during a presentation which is being held at the 2013 RSA Conference, February 25 to March 1st, in San Francisco, California.

In a presentation titled, Stock Exchanges in the Line of Fire - Morphology of Cyber-Attacks, Ziv Gadot, Radware's Security Operations Center (SOC) team leader, will discuss how stock exchanges are constantly targeted by cyber attacks and why they are an ideal target for hacktivists who try to cause even the slightest service disruption, which may result in heavy financial losses and penalties to the financial sector.

Based on hands-on experience, Mr. Gadot will also discuss exact timelines of the events with real case studies, pre-attack preparation scenarios, attack vectors used and what each vector attempted to achieve. Also covered will be the impact on both the network and business and how each attack victim initiated their mitigation including forensic analysis and eventual arrests, as well as practical techniques that exchanges and similar firms can employ to safeguard their operations.

The presentation will take place Thursday, February 28th from 10:40am - 11:40am in room 135 at the Moscone Convention Center. Attendees are encouraged to live-tweet during the session using the hashtag #Radware.

"Through denial of service attacks, website defacement, information theft and other disruptive techniques, hactivists will continue their relentless cyber-attacks in order to highlight their own ideals and dissent," says Ziv Gadot. "By sharing a detailed technical account on these stock exchange incidents, I hope to inform and educate those who attend this briefing to better assist their future mitigation efforts."
